The Miami Hurricanes have officially added a high-upside international guard to their retooled roster with 6-foot-5 point guard Noam Dovrat. Miami basketball, under first year head coach Jai Lucas, confirmed the signing on Tuesday. Dovrat has a wealth of experience in Israeli professional basketball and holds a multidimensional skill set.

"We are excited to bring Noam to our program as he brings a wealth of playing experience in Israel and in international play. He is someone that has the ability to score and facilitate the offense while also using his size and physicality to play and guard multiple positions."Jai Lucas
Originally playing for Maccabi Urban Ramat Gan and Hapoel Jerusalem, Dovrat averaged 5.0 points, 2.5 assists, and 1.9 rebounds per game during the 2024–25 Israeli Winner League season.
Dovrat was named MVP of the 2019 FIBA U18 European Championship Division B, posting averages of 16.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. In 2020, he earned the Israeli Premier League Discovery of the Year award and has heavily contributed to championship-winning teams including Hapoel Jerusalem’s Israeli Cup titles in 2023 and 2024, and the 2024 League Cup victory.
Dovrat’s signing represents another international off-season acquisition under Lucas. He joins a revamped Hurricanes roster featuring an entirely new lineup from last season. The roster now goes as follows:
- PG: Tre Donaldson
- SG: Tru Washington
- SF: Shelton Henderson
- PF: Malik Reneau
- C: Ernest Udeh Jr.
- Dante Allen
- Marcus Allen
- Tomotej Malovec
- Jordyn Kee
- Salih Altuntas
- John Laboy II
- Treyvon Maddox
- Noam Dovrat
For the Hurricanes, Dovrat’s experience is a standout quality. At nearly 23 years old, he arrives with years of professional and national team experience, giving him a maturity advantage over many typical freshmen or transfers. Standing 6‑foot‑5 and around 190 pounds, the Israeli guard also has the flexibility to play at both guard spots.
