Four-star safety Zayden Gamble has narrowed his recruitment to Miami, Florida, Notre Dame and Ohio State. Gamble is ranked the No. 16 safety in the 2027 class by the Rivals Industry Ranking.

Zayden Gamble cuts his list to four schools

Gamble is a Fort Lauderdale prospect at St. Thomas Aquinas and has been to Coral Gables multiple times. Gamble is going on an official visit to Miami on May 29, as well as Ohio State on June 5, Florida on June 11 and Notre Dame on June 19. He has a scheduled commitment date of July 16.

Gamble logged 65 total tackles, 50 solo stops, three interceptions, five passes defended and one forced fumble in 2025.

Gamble had four interceptions during the 2024 season, and he got varsity snaps as a freshman in 2023 on a St. Thomas Aquinas team that won a state title.

On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine currently gives the Hurricanes the edge at 86.7%, with Florida next at 6.1%. Safeties coach Will Harris and defensive backs coach Zac Etheridge are the primary and secondary recruiters in the battle.

Miami already has one 2027 safety commit in Jaylyn Jones, who ranks No. 225 overall, No. 21 at safety and No. 21 in Florida in the 247Sports Composite. Adding Gamble would give the Hurricanes another blue-chip safety from Broward County.

The Hurricanes signed JJ Dunnigan in the 2026 class. He was a consensus four-star who ranked inside the national top 150 in the 247Sports Composite and No. 13 at safety in the Rivals Industry Ranking.

Miami has been on a recruiting run as of late and is in multiple battles for highly-rated prospects. This time of year is one of the busiest for recruits as they weigh options prior to their senior year. The Canes' staff will continue to try to impress as the spring continues on.
