With the Ohio State Buckeyes winning the National Championship Game over Notre Dame, it's time to already shift gears and look ahead to the 2025 season. This is something the Miami Hurricanes have done for a while, as the team made a statement in signing star quarterback Carson Beck.

Ever since Beck made the move to Coral Gables, Miami fans have been dreaming of an electric campaign being on the way for Mario Cristobal and his playmakers. However, it seems not everyone is as high on the Canes as we thought?

On Monday, On3 released its way-too-early Top 25 rankings for next season, with Miami checking in at No. 21 on the list. This has caught plenty of people off guard and it should no question serve as extra motivation for the locker room:

Miami is ranked No. 21 in On3's early Top 25 poll for the 2025 season

We're not going to sit here and pretend like Miami should be in the Top 10 right now, but outside of the Top 20 feels a bit strange, right? Yes, the loss of Cam Ward, the projected No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft, is going to sting, but Beck is giving plenty of people hope the offense won't skip a beat.

On defense, Lance Guidry was (rightfully) fired as defensive coordinator and Corey Hetherman has promised to have his unit playing fast and aggressive. The secondary is going to be looking completely different too, with Xavier Lucas, Ethan O'Connor and others getting ready to suit up for Miami next fall.

Miami is going to have a chance to send an early message, as this team will open the season against the Fighting Irish and Marcus Freeman. With a win, it will be time for everyone to take Beck and the Canes seriously, as Miami will be ready to make it a campaign to remember.
