He's no stranger to upsetting college football fans with some of his off-the-wall takes. We're talking about Paul Finebaum, who has been covering the game for far too long. It looks like his latest target is the latest big-name addition for the Miami Hurricanes football program.
Earlier this month, people all over Miami went wild with the news that star quarterback Carson Beck was going to be making the move from Athens to south Florida. That's right, Beck has put the pen to paper with Miami and he's ready to try and help this team win the ACC in 2025.
While there are countless people who are ecstatic over this decision, Finebaum hasn't held back with his thoughts. In a recent edition of his podcast, Finebaum called out Beck for leaving Athens and went as far to say that no NFL team wanted to touch him in the upcoming draft. Okay then.
Paul Finebaum is not happy at all that Carson Beck bolted on UGA for Miami
“Let’s not sugarcoat it, the NFL didn’t want any part of Carson Beck,” Finebaum said via Pro Football Network. “He had a rough season. I’m sorry he got hurt; I hope he has a good time on South Beach.”
Beck was hoping to power Georgia to the National Championship Game this year, but he suffered a torn UCL in the SEC Championship Game victory for the Bulldogs. While UGA finished No. 2 in the final CFP rankings, an early exit was posted in a loss to Notre Dame and Marcus Freeman.
Following his injury, multiple reports stated that Beck essentially had one foot out the door with the program and despite Kirby Smart wanting him to return, Beck had his mind made up about joining the Canes. With that, Miami is in a prime spot to get to the CFP next winter.
However, plenty of people have been bashing Beck, with Finebaum on the list too. Yes, he's coming off a serious injury and his NFL Draft stock dipped a bit, but is this something for him to dunk on Beck for? Not at all. Beck will have a good time on South Beach, Paul, and he'll be helping head coach Mario Cristobal win some games in the process.
