OJ Frederique enters the 2026 season as one of Miami's most experienced returning cornerbacks, but EA Sports did not place the junior among the 10 best players at his position in College Football 27.
Frederique received an 86 overall rating, and that is strong, especially for a player who entered Miami as a three-star prospect. But it left him four points below the 90 overall rating shared by the final two corners in EA Sports' top 10.
The gap creates an interesting point of motivation for Frederique.
No OJ is genuinely outrageous https://t.co/mnjGl2AOqj

The game gives Frederique 90 speed, 91 acceleration, 91 agility, 87 man coverage and 89 zone coverage.
EA Sports also gave Frederique an 84 awareness rating, while several of the players ahead of him sit in the upper 80s or 90s in that category.
Notre Dame's Leonard Moore leads all cornerbacks with a 97 overall rating. Texas Tech's Brice Pollock is second at 93, followed by Alabama's Zabien Brown at 92. Brandon Finney Jr., Kelley Jones, Jamari Sharpe, Jyaire Hill and Jontez Williams each received 91 overall ratings. Georgia's Ellis Robinson IV and BYU's Evan Johnson round out the top 10 at 90.
Frederique is not the highest-rated Miami cornerback in the game. EA Sports placed Ethan O'Connor at 87 overall, one point ahead of Frederique.

He played in all 13 games and made seven starts as a true freshman. He finished with 30 tackles, one tackle for loss, one interception and seven pass breakups.
The season earned Frederique FWAA Freshman All-America recognition and All-ACC honorable mention. He also finished second in voting for ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year behind Clemson linebacker Sammy Brown.
The top-rated cornerback is waiting on Miami's schedule
Moore, the game's No. 1-rated cornerback at 97 overall, will be on the other sideline when the Hurricanes travel to South Bend. Miami and Notre Dame renewed the rivalry in 2025, with the Hurricanes winning 27-24 at Hard Rock Stadium. The rematch will be one of Miami's biggest regular-season tests in 2026.
