On3's preseason top-100 players list gave the Hurricanes five selections, headlined by sophomore wide receiver Malachi Toney at No. 5 overall. He was joined by defensive lineman Ahmad Moten Sr. at No. 27, quarterback Darian Mensah at No. 44, edge rusher Damon Wilson II at No. 54 and running back Mark Fletcher Jr. at No. 93.

Malachi Toney leads a loaded Miami group in On3's preseason top 100
Toney landed at No. 5 overall, behind only Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, Oregon quarterback Dante Moore, Notre Dame cornerback Leonard Moore and South Carolina edge rusher Dylan Stewart. That also made Toney the No. 2 wide receiver on the list behind Smith.
Moten came in at No. 27 overall, putting him just behind Oregon defensive lineman Bear Alexander and just ahead of Oregon edge rusher Matayo Uiagalelei. That made Moten the No. 4 defensive lineman on the list behind Texas Tech's A.J. Holmes, Oklahoma's David Stone and Alexander.
Mensah was placed at No. 44 overall, one spot behind Iowa cornerback Zach Lutmer and one spot ahead of Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss. That made Mensah the No. 7 quarterback on the list behind Oregon's Dante Moore, LSU's Sam Leavitt, Ohio State's Julian Sayin, Texas' Arch Manning, South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers and USC's Jayden Maiava.
Wilson logged in at No. 54 overall, just behind Oregon edge rusher Teitum Tuioti and just ahead of Michigan edge rusher John Henry Daley. That also made Wilson the No. 9 edge rusher on the list behind South Carolina's Dylan Stewart, Texas' Colin Simmons, Oregon's Matayo Uiagalelei, LSU's Princewill Umanmielen, Notre Dame's Boubacar Traore, Louisville's Clev Lubin, Alabama's Yhonzae Pierre and Tuioti.
Fletcher was ranked at No. 93 overall, one spot behind Rutgers running back Antwan Raymond and one spot ahead of Texas offensive tackle Melvin Siani. That made Fletcher the No. 10 running back on the list behind Ole Miss' Kewan Lacy, Missouri's Ahmad Hardy, Florida's Jadan Baugh, Louisville's Isaac Brown, BYU's LJ Martin, Michigan's Jordan Marshall, Ohio State's Bo Jackson, Oklahoma State's Caleb Hawkins and Raymond.
Miami opens the 2026 season at Stanford on Sept. 4 before hosting Florida A&M on Sept. 10.
