Caleb Gaskins, a five-star Hurricanes signee, showed he belonged with the best of the best at the McDonald's All American festivities.

Caleb Gaskins showed Miami is getting a top-end player

Gaskins won the King of the Court challenge, a one-on-one competition that put his shot creation and confidence in front of some of the best players in the 2026 class. One of the biggest highlights came when Gaskins shook five-star USC signee Christian Collins on the way to a bucket.

In the McDonald's All-American Game itself on Tuesday, Gaskins played for just under 17 minutes for Team West in a 102-86 win over Team East. He finished with nine points, two assists and one rebound.

Gaskins became the seventh Hurricane to earn McDonald's All-American honors, and he is the second-highest rated recruit in program history.

Gatorade named him the 2025-26 Florida Boys Basketball Player of the Year after he averaged 22.6 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals.

Jai Lucas brings in two impressive high school recruiting classes

The Hurricanes' 2025 class ranked No. 16 nationally in the 247Sports Composite and featured four-star forward Shelton Henderson, four-star guard Dante Allen, four-star forward Treyvon Maddox, and John Laboy II.

Henderson arrived as the No. 25 player in the country, the No. 7 small forward and the No. 2 player in Texas, while Allen came in at No. 35 nationally, No. 5 among combo guards and No. 10 in Florida.

Henderson averaged 13.8 points and 4.9 rebounds while shooting 56.7% from the field. Allen averaged 6.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists. Maddox gave Miami 4.7 points and 2.3 rebounds a night.

Right now, Gaskins is the only signed player in 2026, but it is expected to have a few more players join the class. In 2025, there were multiple foreign players to join the American high school recruits. That should be the same for 2026.
