Four-star interior offensive lineman Jatori Williams committed to Miami on Thursday. Williams had originally been set to announce on May 22, then publicly pushed the decision back to July 4. But, despite that, he ended up committing to the Hurricanes on May 21, making the decision 44 days before that July date.

Miami lands 4-star 2027 interior offensive lineman Jatori Williams

Williams' recruitment looked like it could become a summer recruiting battle. He had official visits lined up to Georgia on May 29, Miami on June 5, Florida State on June 12 and Kentucky on June 19.

But, the Hurricanes did not have to wait through trips to Georgia, Florida State and Kentucky as Williams made the call before the race could heat up.

Williams measures in at 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds and plays at Central High in Phenix City, Alabama. He is the No. 92 overall player, No. 6 interior offensive lineman and No. 4 player in Alabama in the 247Sports rankings. He is also the No. 104 overall player, No. 7 interior offensive lineman and No. 3 player in Alabama in the 247Sports Composite.

The Rivals/On3 Industry Ranking has Williams as the No. 105 overall player, No. 9 interior offensive lineman and No. 4 player in Alabama. ESPN ranks him as the No. 159 player in the SC Next 300 and No. 5 offensive guard in the class.

Williams earned first-team Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) Class 7A all-state honors as a junior at Central Phenix City.

Williams had previously been committed to Alabama before reopening his recruitment in December. Miami was not in his first top 10 before that Alabama commitment, but the Hurricanes worked back into the race after he decommitted. By the spring, Miami was in his top group with Alabama, Georgia, Florida State, Kentucky and others.

Mario Cristobal, Alex Mirabal and the staff really put in their best work here. To go from completely out of the race to winning it is insanely impressive. Now the Canes get an elite Alabama recruit and continue to solidify the 2027 class.

Williams joins an offensive line group that includes Sean Tatum and Tyler Ford in Miami's 2027 class.

Miami has 14 hard commits in the 2027 class and is ranked as the No. 8 class nationally, per 247Sports. Williams is the fourth-highest-rated commitment in that group, behind five-star cornerback Donte Wright, quarterback Israel Abrams and wide receiver Nick Lennear.
