Miami is among the contenders for transfer guards Juke Harris from Wake Forest and Acaden Lewis of Villanova, per multiple reports. Miami has to rebuild its backcourt after losing point guard Tre Donaldson, who completed his eligiblity and reserve guards Noah Dovrat and Tru Washington to the Transfer Portal.

Harris is the third-ranked transfer and top combo guard in the portal, as ranked by 247Sports. The ACC named Harris its most improved player in 2025-26 after he averaged 21.4 points per game on 44.4 percent from the field and 33.2 percent on three-point attempts with 6.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.3 steals.

Harris scored 28 points on nine out of 15 from the field, four out of eight on three-point attempts and six of 10 from the free throw line with two rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block as Miami won 81-77 at Wake Forest in January. Miami ended a nearly two-year ACC road losing streak with the win.

Wake Forest missed the NCAA Tournament, but in two NIT games, Harris averaged 23,0 PPG on 43.8 percent from the field, made five of his 15 three-point attempts and 13 out of 16 from the free throw line with 7.0 RPG, 4.5 APG and 1.0 SPG.

Lewis needs to improve his shooting

Lewis is the 19th overall transfer and third CG in the 2026 portal, behind Harris and Kayden Mingo of Penn State. Jai Lucas nearly signed Lewis as a high school prospect in 2025. In his one season at Villanova, Lewis averaged 12.2 PPG, 3.0 RPG, 5.3 APG and 1.9 SPG.

Lewis shot 45.6 percent from the field, 27.0 percent on three-point attempts and 74.5 percent from the free throw line with a 53.3 eFG percentage. Like Miami, Lewis was not a high-volume three-point shooter, making 27 out of his 100 attempts in 33 games.

Lewis struggled as Villanova lost 78-64 to Georgetown in the Big East Tournament and 86-78 to Utah State in the NCAA Tournament. In the two postseason games, Lewis scored 12 points on five out of 21 from the field, two out of seven on three-point attempts, with two rebounds, 11 assists and two steals.

Lewis had eight assists in the loss to Utah State. Miami returns Dante Allen as the starting two guard and Shelton Henderson at small forward. Five-star 2026 power forward Caleb Gaskins is a lock to start for Miami. Miami could add Harris and Lewis to use a smaller lineup with Allen, Gaskins and Henderson as the other starters.
