FSU kicker Jake Weinberg is predicted to flip to the Miami Hurricanes
Weinberg, a South Florida native, was Florida State's starting kicker for the entire 2025 season. Weinberg started all 12 games and went 12-for-19 on field goals while making all 46 extra points. But, he went 6-for-12 on field goals over his final 12 attempts. He also handled kickoffs, producing 56 touchbacks on 61 kickoffs.
Against Miami last year, he had two made field goals, connecting from 23 and 35 yards.
Miami had stability at the position in 2025 with Carter Davis handling most of the work. Davis went 17-for-23 on field goals (73.9%) with a long of 53 yards, and a perfect 49-for-49 on extra points. Bert Auburn, a Texas transfer, also saw limited action, going 1-for-1 on field goals and 8-for-8 on extra points.
From Florida Stateβs side, the move is another notable special teams change after a disappointing year. The Seminoles finished 5-7 in 2025.
When Weinberg signed with Florida State out of high school, he was rated among the top kickers in his class by major recruiting services.
