Four-star cornerback Brody Jennings announced Saturday that he flipped his commitment from Michigan to Miami, boosting the Hurricanes 2026 class with a key in-state addition.

Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing approximately 185 pounds, Jennings is rated as the No. 129 overall prospect and No. 18 cornerback nationally by On3, and the No. 294 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking. His decision brings Miami’s cornerback group to four blue-chip defenders (alongside Jaelen Waters, Jontavious Wyman and Camdin Portis) solidifying what’s shaping up to be one of the nation’s top secondary classes.

Jennings initially committed to Michigan in July of last year but maintained openness throughout the offseason. After officially visiting Coral Gables on May 30, he praised the program’s family environment, saying Miami felt like home. Coaches Mario Cristobal, Will Harris and Zac Etheridge, who formed close bonds with Jennings, factored heavily into his decision.

“This visit has been great… Coach Cristobal is a great coach, along with Coach Harris and Coach Etheridge,” Jennings told Rivals’ John Garcia Jr. He also emphasized the importance of family: “My family is from Miami…they’re Miami Hurricanes fans already, so it would be great playing around the hometown of my parents."

From a Michigan perspective, his flip leaves the Wolverines with two four-star corners currently in the fold (Andre Clarke and Dorian Barney).

Miami has been dominating this recruiting cycle, especially after five-star-plus offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell — the No. 1 overall prospect — chose the Hurricanes back in May. Since then, 10 additional recruits have joined the class. In June, four-star wide receiver Vance Spafford flipped his commitment from Georgia to Miami. Ranked just behind Cantwell, Spafford is the No. 86 overall recruit and the No. 12 wideout in the cycle.

Israel Briggs, a four-star tight end, previously pledged to Arizona State before flipping to Miami. He now ranks as the No. 8 tight end nationally. From Venice, four-star EDGE Asharri Charles enters the frame with his recent commitment as a top-200 national prospect.
