Defensive lineman Donta Simpson, tight end Brock Schott and wide receiver Chance Robinson plan to enter the NCAA transfer portal as Miami continues its College Football Playoff run.

The moves come as the sport heads into the first part of next season. The NCAA transfer portal window runs from Jan. 2-16 for FBS and FCS players.

Defensive lineman Donta Simpson

Simpson, a Hollywood, Fla., native who played at Chaminade-Madonna, was part of Miami's 2025 recruiting class and arrived as a three-star prospect. Rivals Industry Ranking listed Simpson as the No. 562 overall recruit in the 2025 cycle.

Simpson appeared in eight games and finished the season with four total tackles (one solo, three assists) and 1.5 tackles for loss. His most productive day came against Bethune-Cookman, when he recorded two assisted tackles and a half tackle for loss, with his other solo tackle coming against Stanford.

Simpson's high school production suggested upside. He recorded 60 tackles, 25 tackles for loss and 15 sacks as a senior, despite battling injury, plus 43 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks as a junior. He picked Miami over offers that included Maryland, Minnesota, NC State and West Virginia.

Wide receiver Chance Robinson

Robinson is from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and is a St. Thomas Aquinas product who arrived at Miami as one of the more decorated receivers in his class. He was a consensus four-star prospect and was ranked No. 157 overall in the 247Sports Composite.

The portal move comes after a quiet start to Robinson's college career. Robinson was not able to record a reception during his time playing for Miami.

Tight End Brock Schott

Schott's only production this season came against Bethune-Cookman, when he caught two passes for 24 yards.

Rivals Industry Rankings listed Schott as a four-star recruit, the No. 246 overall player nationally and the No. 13 tight end in the cycle. He was also ranked as the No. 6 player in Indiana.

As a high school senior, Schott totaled 28 catches for 462 yards and five touchdowns in 11 games.
