Max Chadwick and Dalton Wasserman of Pro Football Focus named the Miami Hurricanes, Missouri, Oregon and Texas Tech as their four biggest winners from the transfer portal this offseason. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Texas Tech, Oregon, Miami and Missouri signed the third through sixth best transfer classes.

LSU has the top-ranked transfer class, followed by Mississippi. Miami has the second-highest average grade per transfer at 90.64. Oregon is first with an average transfer grade of 91.60. Miami added four transfer cornerbacks and a safety in a clear effort to upgrade the talent in the secondary.

The Miami transfer class is led by Carson Beck, who is the No. 3 ranked player in the 2025 portal and the top quarterback. Beck completely changes the projection for Miami in 2025. Xavier Lucas is the 18th-ranked transfer nationally and the highest-rated defensive player for Miami in the 2025 portal.

Defensive tackle David Blay is the 48th-ranked transfer nationally and should anchor the Miami defensive line in 2025. Other key incoming transfers for Miami are center James Brockermeyer and wide receiver C.J. Daniels. Expect Miami to attempt to add another transfer WR in the April portal window.

Offensive tackle Isaiah World, who is transferring to Oregon, and edge-rusher Damon Wilson, transferring to Missouri, are the only transfers ranked ahead of Beck. Beck will have the biggest spotlight on him among transfers entering the 2025 season at a marquee position and as an established presence in college football.

As they have throughout his tenure, Mario Cristobal will expect the transfers to have a major impact in 2025. It is a lot to expect Beck to perform at the same level as Cam Ward did in 2024, but Miami needs the former Georgia QB to become a leader and impact player for the Hurricanes in 2025.
