Led by quarterback Cam Ward, the seven Hurricanes selected in the 2025 NFL Draft were the most since 2017. Miami had nine players selected in the 2017 NFL Draft after their first season under Mark Richt. Tight end David Njoku, selected 29th overall, was the lone Miami first-round pick in 2017.
The other players selected from Miami in 2025 were TE Elijah Arroyo, 50th overall by Seattle; offensive lineman Jalen Rivers, 153rd overall by Cincinnati, linebacker Francisco Mauigoa, 162nd and defensive lineman Tyler Baron, 176th to the New York Jets, kicker Andres Borregales, 182nd to New England and running back Damien Martinez, 223rd to Seattle.
Other 2017 draftees were safety Rayshawn Jenkins, 113th to San Diego, cornerback Corn Elder, 152nd to Carolina, guard Danny Isidora, 180th to Minnesota, DL Al-Quadin Muhammad, 196th to New Orelans, QB Brad Kaaya, 216th to Detroit, wide receiver Stacy Coley, 219th to Minnesota, safety Adrian Colbert, 229th to San Francisco and fullback Marquez Williams, 240th to Jacksonville.
Njoku, Jenkins and Muhammad were still on NFL rosters in 2024. Coley, Elder, Isidora, Jenkins and Williams all played at least one game in the NFL. Njoku has had the most successful NFL career among the 2017 Miami draftees, with 351 receptions for 3,769 yards and 30 touchdowns.

The last three seasons have been the most productive of Njoku's career. Njoku had 2023 receptions for 2,015 yards and 15 TDs. Arroyo will attempt to become the next productive TE from Miami. Chris Herndon in 2018, Brevin Jordan in 2021 and Will Mallory are Miami TEs who have been drafted in between Njoku and Arroyo.
Mario Cristobal has delivered on upgrading the talent on the Miami roster. Somewhere around seven drafted players should be the norm for Miami with Cristobal as head coach. Miami had the 14th most talented roster in college football per 247 Sports team talent composite rankings and tied for sixth with seven 2025 draftees.
