Loia Valade is no longer waiting until late June to make his commitment.

Valade, a 2027 safety from West Boca Raton High in Boca Raton, Florida, will announce his commitment Tuesday, June 2, at 5 p.m. after previously setting June 27 as his decision date. He is choosing from Auburn, Miami, Texas A&M and Florida, with the announcement set to be live-streamed by On3.

Loia Valade moves up his timeline

Valade explained the change in a statement announcing the new date, saying the decision came after conversations with his family and coaches.

"Announcing on June 2 will allow me to focus on my senior season with the West Boca Bulls and prepare for the next chapter as I enroll in college January 2027."

Valade was originally expected to announce June 27, which would have left more time for official visits and late movement between the four finalists. Instead, Miami, Florida, Auburn and Texas A&M are now working on a much tighter window.

Valade is a 5-foot-11, 180-pound safety with a multi-sport background and track speed. Rivals has him as the No. 41 safety and No. 44 player in Florida, while the Rivals Industry Ranking has him as the No. 84 safety and No. 85 player in the state.

West Boca Raton went 13-2 in 2025 and repeated as Florida Class 6A state champion with a 31-0 win over West Broward in the title game. The Bulls went 15-0 and won the 6A state title in 2024.

Texas A&M has been recruiting Florida aggressively in the 2027 cycle.

The Aggies landed five-star offensive tackle Mark Matthews from St. Thomas Aquinas earlier this month, beating Miami, Georgia and LSU for one of the country's top 2027 prospects. They also have five-star edge rusher Zyron Forstall from IMG Academy committed in the class.

The Gators were considered one of the favorites when Valade first set his June 27 date, and he was expected to visit Florida on June 4 before moving his commitment up.
