Israel Abrams finished near the top of a stacked quarterback field in the Elite 11 Finals. Virginia Tech commit Peter Bourque landed ahead of him at No. 2 on Rivals' overall list and Clemson commit Kharim Hughley appeared at No. 7. From Miami's perspective, the results are both a win for the Canes' future, and a warning.

Abrams was one of the biggest names to come out of the 2026 Elite 11 Finals after 247Sports named him and Nebraska commit Trae Taylor III co-Alpha Dogs for the weekend. Taylor won the Rivals MVP, but 247Sports put Abrams right next to him after both separated from the rest of the field over the three-day event.
Abrams posted the top Vicis Pro Day score with 41 points and seven dimes, then went 14 of 18 for 311 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 7-on-7 work. Taylor went 13 of 20 for 280 yards and seven touchdowns during the 7-on-7 portion.

The ACC has promising QBs on the horizon
Bourque, a Virginia Tech commit, won Rivals MVP honors for Day 2 after hitting 19 of his 20 throws during the pro day session. He followed that with a 20-of-24 showing in 7-on-7, throwing seven touchdowns with one interception.
Franklin was hired by the Hokies in November after his run at Penn State, and Bourque gives him the kind of quarterback commitment that can change the fortunes in Blacksburg.
Bourque is considered a top-100 prospect in the 2027 class by the 247Sports Composite and the Rivals Industry Ranking.
Clemson's Hughley was not as high as Bourque or Abrams, but his weekend still gave Clemson something to look forward to in the future. He finished his 7-on-7 session 16 of 24 with five touchdowns, no interceptions and no sacks.
