Tre Donaldson scored a career high 27 points with 10 assists to lead four Hurricanes in double figures as Miami won its ninth consecutive game with a 91-81 win over Georgia Tech on Saturday. Miami held on after Georgia Tech rallied from a 47-33 halftime deficit to cut the Miami lead to five late in the second half.
Donaldson was the closer with seven points in the final 2:35. Miami scored the first nine points of the game and led 15-2. True freshman Shelton Henderson led Miami with 14 points in the first half and Donaldson had 12. Donaldson scored 15, Malik Reneau 12 and Ernest Udeh Jr. nine in the second half.
Reneau finished with 18 points, Henderson scored 17 and Udeh had 13 points and 15 rebounds. Udeh was critical on the boards, as Miami finished with 31 rebounds to 32 for Georgia Tech. Miami outscored Georgia Tech 34 to 28 in points in the paint.
Despite Georgia Tech making it a close game late in the second, the Yellow Jackets never led. Miami held its biggest lead at 58-43 with 15:56 remaining in the game. Miami shot 51.7 percent from the field and made 10 of its 25 three-point shots.

Georgia Tech was led by Kowacie Reeves Jr. with 23 points, Lamar Washington with 21 and Baye Ndongo with 16 before he fouled out. Timotej Malovec fouled out with four points in 10 minutes for Miami. Georgia Tech and Miami were each called for 23 fouls. Miami was 21-32 from the free throw line and Georgia Tech 23-27.
Miami improved to 14-2 overall and 3-0 in the ACC, tied for first with Duke and Clemson with 3-0 ACC records. Notre Dame hosts Miami on Tuesday and is at Clemson next Saturday before returning home on January 20 against Florida State.
