Syracuse transfer forward Chris Bell visited Miami on Monday, per 247Sports college basketball writer Brandon Jenkins on Monday. Memphis, Miami's ACC rival Pittsburgh and Seton Hall are among the other programs reportedly pursuing Bell.

Bell has averaged 9.4 points per game and 2.1 rebounds while shooting 41.7 percent from the floor, 38.1 percent on three-point attempts and 79.6 percent from the free throw line with a 53.5 eFG percentage in three seasons at Syracuse. After starting all 62 games for Syracuse as a freshman and sophomore, Bell had 13 starts in 32 games in 2024-25.

Bell's numbers went down in 2024-25 as his minutes decreased from 27.0 per game in 2023-24 to 21.5 during the 2024-25 season. Syracuse regressed from a 20-12 season in 2023-24 to 14-19 in 2024-25. Miami earned a 91-84 win over Syracuse for one of its three 2024-25 ACC victories.

Bell had 14 points, one rebound and one block on 5-10 from the field, 2-5 on three-point attempts and 2-2 from the free throw line versus Miami. Miami head coach Jai Lucas was able to watch Bell score nine points with one assist and one rebound on 3-8 field goals and 3-6 threes in an 83-54 Duke win over Syracuse.

Miami has filled every position but small forward through the transfer portal. The Hurricanes have received commitments from power forward Malik Reneau, point guard Tre Donaldson, center Ernest Udeh Jr. and shooting guard Tru Washington through the transfer portal over the last couple of weeks.

Bell could potentially be the starting small forward for Miami in 2025-26 or be a player the Hurricanes add for depth. Miami received a commitment from their first freshman in the 2025 class, shooting guard Dante Allen, on Monday. Lucas and his staff still have a lot of work to do to continue filling out the Miami roster.
