Robert Morris transfer DeSean Goode, the 2025-26 Horizon League Player of the Year, visited Miami on Friday as Jai Lucas continues to reshape the Hurricanes' roster for next season.

Miami has already added backcourt help in Villanova transfer Acaden Lewis and rim protection in Georgia transfer Somto Cyril, but the Hurricanes still need to add another proven scorer and rebounder up front.

DeSean Goode is a portal target Miami fans should know

ESPN's transfer rankings place Goode No. 87 nationally, while 247Sports' transfer rankings list him No. 70 overall and No. 18 among power forwards. Before arriving in Coral Gables, Goode had already taken visits to Kansas, St. John's and Louisville, with Kentucky, NC State and Oklahoma also reported as programs that met with or tracked him during the process.

Goode is 6-foot-8 and 230 pounds, and he just finished a breakout sophomore season after transferring from IU Indy. He put up 15.2 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game while shooting 62.9% from the field. He finished the regular season as the Horizon League's top rebounder, tied for first in the league with 10 double-doubles and ranked first in field-goal percentage. He won Conference Player of the Year honors and was also named to the All-Horizon League first-team.

At IU Indy in 2024-25, he made the Horizon League All-Freshman Team after averaging 7.8 points and 6.0 rebounds while shooting 50.6% from the field and 36% from 3-point range.

The Hurricanes lost Malik Reneau, Tre Donaldson and Ernest Udeh Jr. from last season's core, with Reneau and Udeh leaving especially large holes in the frontcourt. Miami already answered part of that by landing Cyril, who averaged 9.3 points and 5.4 rebounds at Georgia, and led the SEC with 74 total blocks. But, Lucas still needs more from the transfer portal.
