Miami landed a commitment from four-star running back Ty Keys out of Poplarville, Mississippi.
Keys chose the Hurricanes over Ole Miss and Florida State. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound back is ranked as the No. 142 overall prospect and No. 9 running back in the 2027 Rivals300. The Rivals Industry Ranking has him as the No. 197 overall player, No. 11 running back and No. 7 player in Mississippi.

4-star RB Ty Keys commits to Miami
As a junior at Poplarville, Keys ran for 3,285 yards on 301 carries (252.7 rushing yards per game), averaged 10.9 yards per carry and scored 45 rushing touchdowns. His 3,285 rushing yards ranked No. 12 nationally, No. 1 in Mississippi and No. 1 in Mississippi Class 4A.
Keys set a Mississippi single-game rushing record with 546 yards and eight touchdowns in Poplarville's 60-54 win over Hancock. He also earned Mississippi Class 4A Mr. Football honors after his junior season.
Keys missed eight games with a shoulder injury in 2024, but still finished with 565 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 101 carries. He was named MVP of the Mississippi 4A state title game after rushing for 130 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries in Poplarville's 29-28 win over Louisville. He also returned a kickoff 83 yards for a touchdown in that game.
As a freshman, Keys ran for 1,222 yards and 24 touchdowns while also taking snaps on defense. That gives him 5,072 rushing yards and 76 rushing touchdowns over three high school seasons.

Keys gives Miami nine commitments in the 2027 class.
The group now includes quarterback Israel Abrams, wide receiver Nick Lennear, offensive lineman Sean Tatum, offensive lineman Tyler Ford, edge rusher Demarcus Deroche, defensive lineman Josh Johnson, safety Jaylyn Jones and Keys.
