Four-star edge rusher Derwin Fields has cut his list to five schools: Georgia, Miami, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas. Fields is from Brookhaven, Mississippi.

On3 ranks him as the top edge prospect in the state, and the Rivals Industry comparison slots him at No. 175 nationally, No. 22 at edge and No. 6 overall in Mississippi.

247Sports currently ranks Fields No. 217 nationally, No. 21 among edge rushers and No. 7 in Mississippi, while ESPN puts him at No. 76 nationally, No. 8 at edge and No. 3 in the state.

Fields logged 56 total tackles, 16 sacks, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries during the 2025 season at Brookhaven. His 16 sacks ranked top three in Mississippi and first in Class 5A, and Brookhaven went on to beat West Point 31-19 for the state title in December.

Fields has taken unofficial visits to Ole Miss twice, Auburn, Kentucky, Florida and USC. He visited Florida on April 5, 2025, USC on April 26, 2025, Kentucky on Sept. 6, 2025, and Ole Miss twice — one of them being on Nov. 15, 2025. He visited both Auburn and Ole Miss around the same time in early November last year.

Earlier in the process, Fields also made spring stops to Jackson State, Grambling State, Florida State and Alabama.

Fields was among Miami's visitors for the Hurricanes' Florida game last September, and he will most likely set a spring/summer visit to Coral Gables. Miami defeated Florida for the second straight season last year in a 26-7 win that saw the Canes defense dominate.

For what's next, Fields will want to set a visit schedule soon so he can choose from the five teams currently on his list. No spring visits have been locked in yet for him, but that should change soon.
