Miami commit Caleb Gaskins ranked No. 8 nationally
Gaskins is a 6-foot-9 forward, and his production is why evaluators have him near the top of the board. During his junior season at Christopher Columbus High School, he helped lead the Explorers to a national championship while averaging 13.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
He backed it up in the spring and summer, averaging 15.7 points and 7.3 rebounds across 15 games on the Nike EYBL circuit, and then 20.0 points and 10.2 rebounds per game at Peach Jam while shooting nearly 60% inside the arc.
Gaskins has also been named a 2026 McDonald's All-American Game selection, becoming the seventh Hurricane signee to earn the honor. Miami's list of past McDonald's All-Americans includes Tito Horford, Steve Edwards, Darius Rice, Dewan Hernandez, Lonnie Walker IV and Jalil Bethea.
The final 2026 rankings update is expected after the postseason all-star games, which means there will be more movement coming and more chances for Gaskins to rise higher.
2025-26 Miami Hurricanes basketball
Miami is 17-5 and sitting fifth in the ACC, with a roster that can score and rebound at a high level. Malik Reneau has been the go-to option at 19.9 points per game, while Tre Donaldson (16.0 points, 6.1 assists) drives the offense and Ernest Udeh Jr. anchors the glass at 9.9 rebounds a night.
Beyond Reneau and Donaldson, Miami has gotten steady production from a few key pieces. Forward Shelton Henderson is at 14.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 60.8% from the field, and guard Tru Washington is averaging 11.9 points and 4.0 rebounds while leading the team in steals at 1.9 per game.
