Four-star defensive lineman Nolan Wilson, a standout from Picayune Memorial High School in Mississippi, has included the University of Miami among his top five schools as he narrows down his college choices. Joining the Hurricanes on his list are Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and Ole Miss.

Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 240 pounds, Wilson is ranked as the No. 4 defensive lineman nationally and the No. 3 overall prospect in Mississippi for the 2026 class, according to On3.  Known for his explosive first step and ability to disrupt plays in the backfield, he has a ton of interest from teams in the SEC.

Wilson has scheduled official visits to each of his top choices: Alabama on May 30, Auburn on June 6, Ole Miss on June 13, and Miami on June 20.  While Florida is among his finalists, an official visit to Gainesville has not yet been scheduled. Miami is competing against some top SEC programs, one of which is close to home for Wilson.

Miami's inclusion in Wilson's top schools shows the strides the Hurricanes have taken in the recruiting world. Last season, the Canes took a big step forward on the football field with 10 wins and a year with a ton of playoff buzz. Unfortunately, Miami faded as the season went on but the improvement has put them back on the national stage.

Miami has been consistently ranked in pre-season top 25 rankings and were able to acquire the top player in the offseason transfer portal — QB Carson Beck. With the recent recruiting success, coupled with on-the-field improvements, the Hurricanes are well equipped for a battle against SEC teams on the recruiting trail.

The Hurricanes 2026 recruiting class currently has 11 commitments, with four on the defensive side of the ball. On Saturday, three-star interior offensive lineman Rhys Woodrow was added to the future Hurricanes list. Miami currently has the No. 8 ranked recruiting class for 2026, per On3.
