Miami added a major piece to its 2026 defensive front Wednesday, flipping four-star defensive lineman Keshawn Stancil from Clemson. The Clayton (N.C.) High standout announced the move after a quiet pivot behind the scenes this week, giving Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes their 25th commitment in the cycle.

Stancil is listed at 6-3, 270 pounds and slots as a top national prospect across recruiting services. On3 pegs him as the No. 120 overall recruit and No. 10 defensive lineman in the class, while 247Sports lists him at No. 168 nationally, No. 23 among DL and No. 10 in North Carolina (Composite).
The flip closes a months-long recruitment that originally ended in late June, when Stancil chose Clemson over Miami, Georgia, Penn State and NC State.
On the field, Stancil brings knock-back power at the point of attack, a fast first step and interior/edge versatility. Stancil posted 9.0 sacks as a sophomore and is credited with 4.0 sacks and 56 total tackles so far in the 2025-26 season for Clayton, ranking among the leaders in his conference. He's also a multi-sport athlete with shot-put.
Stancil joins a 2026 group that already includes multiple defensive linemen and edge players. Miami's class currently sits No. 12 nationally and No. 1 in the ACC on On3's team rankings. This is the second straight day in which Miami has been able to flip a prospect in the Class of 2026. On Tuesday, former Iowa State commit, WR Milan Parris, flipped to the Hurricanes.
