4-star Illinois QB Israel Abrams sets visit to Miami
Abrams plays for Montini Catholic in Illinois, and his schedule is starting to fill up fast. The Miami trip is expected next month, and Abrams also has visits lined up for Purdue (May 22), Auburn (June 5), Florida State (June 12) and Kentucky (June 19).
Every major service has Abrams pegged as a blue-chip quarterback. 247Sports Composite lists Abrams as the No. 61 player nationally and the No. 5 quarterback in the 2027 class. The Rivals Industry Ranking puts him No. 45 overall and No. 3 at QB.
Abrams comes in at 6-foot-4 and roughly 185 to 190 pounds, and he'll certainly be able to add size to his frame. He was the 2025 Illinois Player of the Year after he led Montini to a 14-0 season and an IHSA Class 4A state title. He finished the year completing 233 of 340 passes for 4,072 yards and 40 touchdowns with six interceptions, while added 10 rushing touchdowns.
Abrams took over as Montini's starter during his sophomore season and has helped guide the Broncos to back-to-back state championships, including a 3A title the year before the 4A run. Abrams transferred from St. Viator to Montini after his freshman season.
The Hurricanes will need to get Abrams back on campus again. Over the past three seasons, Miami has decided to go to the transfer portal for its answer at QB. In the 2026 cycle, Dereon Coleman was the only signal caller to commit to Miami.
On a different note, four-star QB Wonderful Monds IV is set to visit Miami on April 11. We'll see if Abrams is truly interested in coming to play for the Canes.
