Adrian Peterson Jr., a Ridge Point (Texas) athlete and the son of former NFL MVP Adrian Peterson, has received an offer from the Miami Hurricanes. Miami became his third Division I offer, joining Baylor and Missouri State in the early stage of a recruitment that still has years to develop.

Peterson Jr. is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound wide receiver/athlete in the 2030 class. He is set to play at Fort Bend Ridge Point in the fall as a freshman.

Peterson Jr. is a 14-year-old multi-sport athlete who has played wide receiver, running back and defensive back while also standing out in track and baseball.

Peterson Jr. broke the Baines school record in the 100 meters with a 10.7 and the 200 meters with a 22.07. He was also part of a 4x100 relay team that ran 43.82 and broke a district record.

Peterson Jr.'s father was one of the defining running backs of his era. Adrian Peterson was the 2012 AP NFL Most Valuable Player after rushing for 2,097 yards with the Minnesota Vikings, just 9 yards short of Eric Dickerson's single-season record.

Peterson was a unanimous All-American as a freshman in 2004 and helped the Sooners win the Big 12 championship and reach the BCS National Championship Game.

He later became the No. 7 overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft when the Vikings selected him in the first round. Peterson logged 4,045 rushing yards and 41 touchdowns over three college seasons.

This is a long-game recruiting move for Miami. The Hurricanes are hoping to build a connection by showing early interest.

Peterson Jr. still has a long way to go before any sort of college decision, but his recruitment projects to be a hard-fought battle with multiple top programs involved.
