Wide receiver Eric McFarland has cut his list to 11 schools, with the Hurricanes still in the mix alongside Florida, Georgia, Auburn, LSU, Kentucky, Texas, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Ohio State and UNLV.
McFarland is a Top 25 overall recruit in the 2027 class in the Rivals Industry Rankings. McFarland has already locked in an official visit to Miami for May 29-31.
McFarland reclassified from the 2028 class to the 2027 class in December, and he is preparing for his senior season at IMG Academy in 2026.

4-star WR Eric McFarland includes Miami in final 11 schools
McFarland caught 29 passes for 595 yards and 11 touchdowns during the 2025 season while helping IMG Academy compete against a national schedule. As a freshman in 2024, he finished with 36 receptions for 574 yards and eight touchdowns, while also throwing an 80-yard touchdown pass.
MaxPreps named McFarland to its 2025 Sophomore All-America Team after he led IMG in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns for the second straight season. He was also named a MaxPreps Freshman All-American after his 2024 campaign. Then, after reclassifying from 2028 to 2027 in December, he went to the Polynesian Bowl and earned Offensive MVP honors with four catches for 66 yards, 35 rushing yards and a touchdown. He also played in the Under Armour All-America Game and had two catches for 36 yards there.
McFarland is also a top-tier track athlete and has posted a 10.81 in the 100-meter dash and a 22.24 in the 200.
Miami already has one elite receiver committed in the 2027 class in Nick Lennear, who ranks No. 12 overall in the 247Sports Composite. Adding McFarland to that group would give the Hurricanes a very bright future in its WR room. Also, both Lennear and McFarland would be teamed up with a junior-year Malachi Toney.
