Somourian Wingo was already a priority for Miami and now he looks like one of the faces of the 2026 recruiting cycle. In the latest Rivals300 update, the St. Augustine (Fla.) wide receiver vaulted 41 spots, climbing from No. 63 to No. 22 overall and emerging as one of the biggest risers in the class. For Miami fans who have been following the recruiting trail with a close eye, that should come as no surprise as Wingo has been underrated for far too long.

Wingo has been on a steady ascent for months. He soared 130 spots in the last Rivals300 update as senior evaluations rolled in. At the same time, the On3 Industry Ranking now slots him as a 95.39-grade prospect, inside the national top 50 and among the top 10 receivers in the 2026 class.

As a junior, Wingo caught 65 passes for 1,040 yards and 12 touchdowns while leading St. Augustine to an 11-2 record and a berth in the Florida 4A state semifinals. He followed that by putting himself on pace for a second straight 1,000-yard season this fall. Wingo is also standout basketball player who averaged 16.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.1 steals and 2.5 assists as a junior.

Miami won this recruitment in July, when Wingo committed to the Hurricanes over Florida and South Carolina after a string of official and unofficial visits. He later shut down his recruitment entirely.

For Mario Cristobal and receivers coach Kevin Beard, Wingo is a centerpiece in what has quietly become one of the most intriguing receiver hauls in the country. Miami has already added fellow wideouts Vance Spafford and Tyran Evans, and recently tacked on four-star Milan Parris to deepen the 2026 group. Miami's 2026 Class is currently No. 10 in the nation and No. 1 in the ACC, according to Rivals/On3.
