Eric Galko, the Director of Football Operations and Player Personnel for the Shrine Bowl, posted a video of Miami kicker Andres Borregales making a 65-yard field goal at Pro Day for the Hurricanes on Monday. Galko opined, "Should be, and good chance he is, kicker #1 in this draft."
Pro Football Focus ranks Borregales fourth, behind Ryan Fitzgerald of Florida State, Caden Davis of Mississippi and Ben Sauls of Pittsburgh among kickers on the Pro Football Focus big board. Borregales finished fifth nationally in 2024, making 94.7 percent of his 19 attempts with 18 conversions.
In 2024, Borregales finished seven of seven on attempts from 20 to 29 yards, made all four of his attempts from 30 to 39 yards and both from 50 plus and converted five of six from 40 to 49 yards. Borreagales finished his Miami career making 74 of out his 86 field goal attempts.
Borregales was 25 out of 26 on field goal attempts from 20-29 yards, 25 out of 29 from 30 to 39 yards, 17 out of 21 from 40 to 49 yards and seven out of nine from 50 plus during his Miami career and converted 183 out of his 184 extra points. From his freshman through senior year, Borregales improved significantly.

Borregales made 17 out of 21 field goal attempts as a freshman in 2021, 17 out of 20 as a sophomore in 2022, 22 out of 26 as a junior in 2023, followed by his nearly flawless 2024 season. Borregales finished 44th nationally, averaging 63.08 yards per kickoff and was 39th with a 65.66 touchback percentage.
Throughout his career Borreagales earned 2023 and 2024 All-ACC, First Team, 2023 and 2024 Lou Groza Award Semifinalist and 2021 and 2022 Honorable Mention All-ACC. Borreagales is second in Miami history among kickers with more than one field goal attempt at 86.0 percent.
Andres' older brother, Jose, is first at 90.9 percent. Andres Borregales is first in Miami history with 183 extra points made and 184 attempts, second in field goals made with 74, third in attempts with 86 and the all-time leading scorer in Miami history with 405 points.
