Michael Irvin, unsurprisingly, has long been one of the most outspoken and physically supportive fans of the Miami Hurricanes.
His usually boisterous presence was as apparent as ever when the Canes took down the Texas A&M Aggies in the first round of the College Football Playoff.
Now, as No. 10 Miami prepares to take on the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes in the quarterfinals, Irving has issued yet another sentiment of support for his former team.
"It's all happening with my big boys up front," Irving said when he joined BarStool Sports founder and CEO Dave Portnoy's college football podcast. "That's where this game must be won. I'm not even worried about the skillset players... Ohio State’s never seen anything like we have."
Michael Irvin is fully confident Miami can topple OSU
When it came to the skill players, specifically Miami quarterback Carson Beck, who has had a rollercoaster of a season, Irving was nothing but confident.
"I trust him totally cause I've been with him all year," Irving said. "Last week in the Texas A&M game... he came to me, and he said, 'I've got it.'"

Beck, of course, had just 103 passing yards for one touchdown and lost six yards on the ground in Miami's 10-3 win over the Aggies. However, that was all he needed to help push the Canes on to the next round of the playoffs.
Over the first 13 games of the year, Beck earned an average of 244 passing yards and two passing touchdowns per game. All season, he scored one rushing touchdown with 33 total yards on the ground. Nonetheless, Irving's vote of confidence is a great sign for Beck's upcoming performance.
Despite his lengthy collegiate career, Beck has never faced the Buckeyes head-to-head, and Ohio State's pass defense has been dominant this year. So, just like Irving said, the offensive line needs to be firing on all cylinders, and that is where the game will be won: at the line of scrimmage.
