Louisville first baseman Tague Davis hit two home runs to set the single-season ACC home run record with 32 and drove in five runs as the Cardinals beat Miami 16 to nine in 11 innings on Friday night in Coral Gables. The Cardinals scored nine runs in the top of the 11th inning. Miami added two in the bottom of the 11th.

Miami scored first when a Vance Sheehan single drove in Alex Sosa and Alonzo Alvarez in the bottom of the second inning. Louisville took the lead when Tague Davis tied the ACC single-season record with his 31st HR of the season in the top of the fourth inning. Zion Rose and Griffin Crain scored on Davis' HR.

Jimmy Nugent made in consecutive HRs when he left the yard immediately after Davis' record-tying blast. That extended the Louisville lead to 4-2. A Crain single scored Kade Elam in the fifth inning to extend the Louisville to push the Louisville lead to 5-2.

Miami rallied in the bottom of the fifth inning. A Derek Williams double scored Jake Ogden to get Miami within 5-3. Sosa hit a three-run HR after Williams to put Miami back in front 6-5. Miami held its 6-5 lead until the eighth inning.

Miami had chances to extend the lead but left two runners on base in the sixth and one in the seventh inning. First baseman Brylan West also got picked off in the bottom of the seventh to cost Miami another base runner. The inability to get bunts down multiple times prevented Miami from getting runners in scoring position.

Two walks and a single loaded the bases for Louisville with one out in the top of the eighth inning. Lyndon Glidewell struck out Ben Slanker for the second out. Bayran Hot singled to score Davis and Rose on a flare to shallow center field and put Louisville back in front 7-6.

Miami tied the game in the ninth inning with a two-out single by Alvarez to score pitcher Tate DeRias, in the game as a pinch runner. The game remained tied until Louisville scored X in the 11th inning. A two-run double by Rose scored the first two runs. Davis later hit his second HR to make it 12-7.

Sosa had three hits, three runs batted in and two runs scored for Miami. Miami and Louisville will play the decisive game of the series on Saturday at 2 PM Eastern Daylight Time on ACC Network Extra. Miami won the opening game of the series 13-8 on Thursday night.
