Montgomery (Ala.) The Montgomery Academy standout Braden Gordon, a versatile athlete being recruited primarily at linebacker, has narrowed his recruitment to five schools after a busy January contact period: Auburn, Florida, Georgia Tech, Kentucky and Miami.

Miami included in top five for 4-star ATH Braden Gordon
Gordon is ranked No. 272 nationally and No. 14 at athlete in the Rivals Industry Ranking. He is listed at 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds by 247Sports, and he has been evaluated as an ATH.
Gordon logged 65 tackles, 10 sacks and 17 tackles for loss during the 2025 season, along with a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.
As a sophomore in 2024, Gordon posted a five-sack, 10-tackle night in a single game, while also catching two touchdown passes.
Gordon has already been to Florida and Auburn multiple times, and he has spring trips set for Georgia Tech on March 13, Kentucky on March 28 and Miami on April 10.
Miami Hurricanes current LB situation
Miami's linebacker room has been a mix of veterans and young depth. Mohamed Toure is the main piece returning (the Rutgers transfer started all 16 games in 2025 and led Miami with 84 tackles).
Wesley Bissainthe is headed to the NFL, while rotation LB Raul Aguirre Jr. signed with NC State out of the portal. Miami also lost depth pieces Malik Bryant and Bobby Washington Jr. to Missouri.
Behind Toure, Chase Smith is the next returning name. He played all 16 games and posted 31 tackles, plus two pass breakups and two QB hurries. Jaylin Alderman played nine games and had seven tackles with a pass breakup.
Cam Pruitt showed up in 15 games and finished with 10 tackles. Kellen Wiley Jr. played eight games and had six tackles with a pass breakup. Kamal Bonner (two tackles in nine games) and Ezekiel Marcelin Jr. (two tackles in 10 games) were more limited.
