InsideTheU's Gaby Urrutia logged a high-confidence Crystal Ball pick for the Hurricanes on Sunday for 2027 interior offensive lineman Sean Tatum, pushing Miami's Crystal Ball page to 100% in favor of the Hurricanes.

For a recruit with official visits lined up to Miami, Florida, Tennessee and Auburn, that is a meaningful development.

Miami is trending towards landing elite IOL

Tatum is a Fort Pierce, Florida, prospect at John Carroll, and stands at 6-foot-3.5 and weighs 317 pounds. The 247Sports Composite ranks him No. 191 nationally, No. 10 among interior offensive linemen and No. 21 in Florida. In 247Sports' individual ranking, he checks in at No. 232 nationally, No. 13 at IOL and No. 23 in the state.

Tatum has official visits scheduled to Miami on May 29, Florida on June 4, Tennessee on June 12 and Auburn on June 19.

Miami has been recruiting Tatum for a few years now and at this point in the process the Hurricanes appear to be the leader in the clubhouse.

Miami is reworking its offensive line room after Francis Mauigoa, Markel Bell, Anez Cooper and James Brockermeyer entered the NFL draft process this spring. Landing a player like Tatum wouldn't help in 2026, but it could help lay the groundwork in the years to come.
