The Miami Hurricanes erased a 5-0 deficit and walked off UCF, 8-7, in 13 innings Tuesday night at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field, winning it on Vance Sheahan's two-run homer with one out in the bottom of the 13th.

Miami (4-0) did not record a hit until the seventh inning and still found a way, piecing together its comeback with one big swing from Jake Ogden, a chaotic ninth inning, and then Sheahan's finish after UCF briefly grabbed the lead again in extras.

UCF (3-1) controlled most of the night behind starter Matt Sauser, who threw six no-hit innings with six strikeouts and one walk. The Knights broke through first in the third on Andrew Williamson's two-run home run, then kept adding on with two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth to build a five-run cushion.

Miami finally got on the board in the eighth when Ogden launched a two-run homer to cut the deficit to 5-2. In the ninth inning, Miami loaded the bases and, with two outs, Michael Torres delivered a two-run single that tied it at 5-all and forced extra innings.

UCF went back in front in the 10th on DeAmez Ross' sacrifice fly, but Miami answered in the bottom half when Daniel Cuvet hit a solo home run to tie it again. Neither side scored in the 11th or 12th, and then UCF struck first in the 13th on Javier Crespo's two-out RBI single, taking a 7-6 lead into the bottom of the inning.

Miami's Alonzo Alvarez opened the 13th with a double, and after a strikeout, Sheahan drove a pitch over the left-field wall for his first home run of the season.

On the mound, Miami starter Lyndon Glidewell allowed four runs in 3 2/3 innings, and the Hurricanes pieced together the rest with the bullpen. Jack Durso gave Miami a key stretch with three scoreless innings out of the pen.

Miami is back at Mark Light Field on Wednesday, hosting Indiana State at 6 p.m. on ACCNX, while UCF heads to Jacksonville for the weekend's Live Like Lou Jax Classic.
