Oregon State defensive back Conrad Hussey transfers to Miami
Hussey's most recent season was short on snaps but the potential is there. He played in three games in 2025, totaling five tackles, including 0.5 tackle for loss, and added a pass breakup.
Miami is betting more on the full body of work and the traits that made Hussey a high-end high school recruit than on his three games last year. Hussey has 45 career tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, one interception, three pass breakups, one fumble recovery, and two forced fumbles across 27 career games.
Hussey played two seasons at Florida State, appearing in 19 games on defense across 2023 and 2024, and making three starts in 2024. In his time at FSU, he logged 40 tackles, one interception, three pass breakups and two forced fumbles.
Hussey was a four-star prospect in the Class of 2023 and the Rivals Industry Ranking had him as the No. 217 overall recruit in the class. In his senior season at St. Thomas Aquinas, Hussey had 29 tackles and three interceptions as the Raiders went 14-0 and won a Florida state title.
Hussey arrives as Miami is losing veteran DB Jadais Richard, who entered the portal and has since landed at Tennessee. Richard played three seasons at Miami after starting his career at Vanderbilt. Richard logged 27 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one interception and one forced fumble in 2024 before a season-ending injury. Richard put up 46 tackles, three pass breakups and an interception across 28 appearances for the Hurricanes.
