After 4-star interior offensive lineman Sean Tatum committed to the Hurricanes, Miami jumped to No. 7 in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, sliding ahead of Notre Dame and Oregon and giving Mario Cristobal another early top-10 class to sell on the trail.

Miami moves up to No. 7 in 2027 class rankings

Tatum is the No. 232 overall prospect in the 247Sports rankings, the No. 13 interior offensive lineman and the No. 23 player in Florida. In the Rivals Industry Ranking, he checks in higher at No. 145 nationally and No. 9 at his position. He picked Miami over Florida, Tennessee and Auburn.

The six teams ahead of the Hurricanes are Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Texas Tech, USC and Georgia. Texas A&M already has 11 commits, including two five-stars. Oklahoma has gone the volume route with 20 commits. Ohio State has nine commits, with two of them being five-stars.

Notre Dame is right behind the Hurricanes at No. 8 with eight four-stars in a nine-man class. Oregon is No. 9. Florida, the school Miami just beat head-to-head for Tatum, is No. 10 after landing five-star interior offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller earlier this week.

Miami is the clear ACC leader in the current Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. SMU is the next ACC team at No. 19, followed by Florida State at No. 21 and Clemson at No. 23. Notre Dame is one spot behind Miami overall, but among actual ACC programs, the Hurricanes have built a sizable early gap.

Miami now has nine commits in the 2027 class, with eight of them coming from Florida. Tatum is the second offensive line commit in the group, joining West Palm Beach Central's Zaquan Linton, and he adds another blue-chip piece to a class already headlined by receiver Nick Lennear and quarterback Israel Abrams.
