Miami added another blue-chip piece to its 2027 class Friday when Fort Pierce John Carroll Catholic four-star offensive lineman Sean Tatum announced his commitment to the Hurricanes.
Tatum was one of the top offensive line targets on the board, and beating out Auburn, Florida and Tennessee shows that the Hurricanes are still hard to beat when top Florida linemen are involved.
Tatum is 6-foot-4 and 325 pounds, and he spent his junior season working at left tackle for a team that reached Florida's 4A playoffs.

Sean Tatum gives Miami another important 2027 commit
Tatum is one of the top interior offensive line prospects in the 2027 cycle. The Rivals Industry Rankings have him as is the No. 145 overall prospect in the country, the No. 9 interior offensive lineman and the No. 15 player in Florida.
Miami had eight commits in the 2027 class before Tatum's decision. Zaquan Linton was already in the class as an offensive tackle, but Tatum gives Miami a more highly rated interior piece and another important body type for Cristobal and offensive line coach Alex Mirabal to build around.
Last week Tatum named Miami his outright leader after a visit to Coral Gables, and the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine gave the Hurricanes an 84.2% chance to land him.
That last visit helped Miami a lot because Florida had pushed hard, too. The Gators had reportedly closed the gap on Miami after a recent visit, but Miami still found a way to finish it.
Prior to his commitment Tatum had multiple visits lined up (and he still might go on them): Miami on May 29-31, Florida on June 4-6, Tennessee on June 12-14, and Auburn on June 19-21. His next unofficial visit is to Auburn, which might need be adjusted since he just committed to play college football at Miami.
