Malachi Toney has the chance to put together a truly special season in 2026
The sophomore wide receiver was listed as a first-team All-American after one of the best freshman seasons Miami has ever seen. He led the nation and set a Miami single-season record with 109 receptions, ranked fifth nationally and led the ACC with 1,211 receiving yards, and finished with a team-high 10 receiving touchdowns. He also earned 2025 ACC Rookie of the Year, ACC Offensive Rookie of the Year, FWAA Offensive Freshman of the Year and a second-team Associated Press All-American.
Mark Fletcher Jr. returns to Miami to boost his 2027 NFL Draft stock and win a championship
The senior running back was named a third-team All-American by Steele after rushing for 1,192 yards and 12 touchdowns on 216 carries last season. He averaged 5.5 yards per carry, added 17 catches for 140 yards and two receiving touchdowns, and earned third-team All-ACC honors.
Miami has a new quarterback in Darian Mensah, but the Hurricanes can rely on Fletcher who can close games, protect leads and keep the offense from becoming too dependent on pass plays.
Ahmad Moten looks to have a breakout campaign after key defensive departures
The defensive lineman was named a third-team All-American after a 2025 season in which he earned second-team All-ACC honors. Moten put up 31 tackles, nine tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks last season.
Phil Steele's full preseason All-America team
Steele's preseason All-America team listed Toney among the first-team wide receivers with Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith and Florida State's Duce Robinson. Fletcher was listed on the third-team running back group, and Moten was listed on the third-team defensive tackle group.
