Miami Punt returner and wide receiver Ray Ray Joseph plans to enter the Transfer Portal, per a report from Hayes Fawcett of On3. Joseph was a consensus four-star signee with Miami in the 2024 class, who Malachi Toney surpassed on the depth chart as a punt returner and WR in 2025.
In 26 games over the past three seasons, Joseph had 14 receptions for 135 yards, averaged 20.6 yards on nine kickoff returns and had 20 punt returns for 167 yards. After playing in 23 games during his first two seasons, Joseph played in only three games in 2025.
Joseph was the 135th prospect, 23rd WR and 32nd signee in Florida out of Miami, Edison. Miami signed Joseph in the 2023 class after he de-committed from Clemson. Joseph was the last WR in the 2023 Miami class remaining on the roster.
Central Florida, Florida State and Louisville are the other programs that Joseph visited as a high school prospect in addition to Clemson and Miami. The Knights, Seminoles and Cardinals could be programs to watch.

Projecting the future Miami WRs depth chart
The transfer of Joseph should not impact Miami. Miami has a deep, young and talented WR corps with eligibility remaining beyond 2025. Four-star WRs Milan Parris, Vance Spafford and Somourian Wingo signed with Miami in the 2026 class.
Wide receiver is unlikely to be a priority for Miami in the 2026 Transfer Portal, like it was in 2025. Miami could lose more WRs to the 2026 Transfer Portal. Several young Miami WRs did not receive significant playing time in 2025.
True freshmen Joshua Moore and Daylyn Upshaw and sophomore JoJo Trader contributed to Miami at WR during the 2025 season. Trader was projected as a breakout WR in 2025, but struggled with injuries early in the season. Toney was a breakout star, beginning with the season-opening 27-24 win over Notre Dame.
