The Miami Hurricanes will be under the lights when they welcome Florida State to Hard Rock Stadium on October 17. The ACC announced that the game between the fierce rivals will have a 7:00 p.m. ET kickoff time with a broadcast on ESPN.

There is no word of the ACC Network will bring their ACC Huddle pre-game show to Hard Rock as well or set up on Miami’s campus. Last season, they were in Tallahassee for the game, but with FSU having an on-campus stadium, the set-up can be a little easier. Hard Rock Stadium controls the parking and does not open the lots until five hours before kickoff.

Miami has shined the brightest during its many night games

There are plenty of reasons to complain about the Hurricanes' schedule. They spent most of September playing on Thursdays and Fridays and have already had three conference road games, one of which was a cross-country trip to Stanford. But there is no complaint about all five of their previous games this season being played under the bright lights.

The Hurricanes went into a night game at Death Valley in Week 5 and left nothing but beaten and battered Clemson Tigers when the clock finally ran out. Miami will look to match that effort and get similar results against the Seminoles, who may have been written off a little early.

FSU is coming off of a big 38-7 win over an experienced Virginia squad that had the collective speed of an average JV high school football team. That gave the Seminoles an ever elusive ACC win, just their fourth since the start of 2024.

The Seminoles will play Louisville this Friday night and, as much as we want to see the Mike Norvell era end in complete embarrassment, a Florida State win would not be the worst thing for Miami. Of course, that would mean the Seminoles would have won on the road, something they have not done since December 2023.

And it is something no one expects them to do on October 17 at Hard Rock Stadium. The Hurricanes are going to be a massive favorite — probably three touchdowns or more — and will be looking to name their score against an FSU team that they have passed by in the ACC.

Most fans are anticipating a big Miami win and a reminder of how far apart the two programs are. But rivalries can be funny, and the Seminoles will come out playing hard and try to look for respect. It will be on the Hurricanes to make sure that any surge is short-circuited and the Seminoles are left wondering if they will ever reach Miami's level again.
