You can go ahead and call this the Carson Beck impact. Not long ago, the Miami Hurricanes were able to make a huge splash, landing the star quarterback the day after he announced he was going to be entering the transfer portal.

With Beck now on campus, he's all set to take over for Cam Ward, who is projected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Beck, recovering from UCL surgery, is fired up to try and get this team to the College Football Playoff next winter.

As it turns out, the Las Vegas oddsmakers think the Canes will be in the hunt to make some serious noise next season. Before Beck joined Miami, the Canes had +3400 odds to win it all next year. Now, though, Mario Cristobal and Co. hold +1800 odds to win the natty. On top of that, Miami holds the top odds of all ACC teams out there.

Will Carson Beck power Miami football to the College Football Playoff next season?

Texas is the favorite to win it all, while Georgia and Ohio State are right behind the Longhorns. Miami is tied with Tennessee for the eighth-best odds to stand alone at the top next January - Notre Dame and Ohio State are ready to battle it out on Jan. 20 for this year's title.

Looking ahead to next season, there's plenty of pressure being placed on Beck's shoulders, but other playmakers on offense are going to have to step up too. The list of course includes WR C.J. Daniels, who is also a big-name transfer for Cristobal and his staff.

Could another wideout be on the way this spring? That's something to keep in mind too, as you never know what might end up happening. What we do know, however, is that Beck arriving in Coral Gables has plenty of people ready to take the Canes seriously in 2025. The hype surrounding Beck is incredible and he'll look to live up to things.
