Four-star safety Andre Hyppolite committed to Miami on Sunday, adding another South Florida defensive back and another Top247 prospect to Mario Cristobal's 2027 class, which is now up to 19 commitments.

Hyppolite, a North Miami Beach standout, picked the Hurricanes over a group that included Florida, Georgia and Notre Dame. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 15 safety in the 2027 class.

Miami's 2027 DB class is loaded

The Hurricanes now have five defensive backs committed in the 2027 class: five-star cornerback Donte Wright, four-star cornerback Ai'King Hall, four-star safety Jaylyn Jones, Hyppolite and cornerback Sherrod Gourdine. On3/Rivals gives Miami the No. 2 class nationally and the No. 1 class in the ACC.

Wright flipped from Georgia to Miami in May. 247Sports ranks Wright as the No. 7 overall player, No. 2 cornerback and No. 1 player in California in the 2027 class.

Hall gave Miami another national win at corner when he flipped from Oregon. On3/Rivals has Hall as the No. 88 overall player and No. 12 cornerback in the 2027 class.

Jones committed to Miami last June out of McArthur High School and remains one of the top South Florida defensive backs in the class. On3/Rivals currently has him as a top-300 national prospect.

Gourdine, also from McArthur, gives Miami another local cornerback with toughness and position flexibility. He committed after visiting Miami for the program's first spring practice in March.
