The Miami Hurricanes have intensified their pursuit of four-star linebacker Duyon "DQ" Forkpa, a standout from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Forkpa has officially scheduled an upcoming visit to Coral Gables, marking a significant development in his recruitment. This comes just shortly after the Hurricanes extended an offer to the 4-star LB.
Originally from Hoschton, Georgia, Forkpa transferred to IMG Academy for his senior year, aiming to compete at the highest level of high school football. At 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, he has demonstrated exceptional athleticism and has a sub-4.5-second 40-yard dash.
Forkpa has a busy official visit schedule ahead with the University of Florida on May 30, Florida State on June 6, Michigan on June 13, University of South Florida on June 17 and Miami on June 30. According to On3, Florida State is their top prediction to land Forkpa with a 29.5% confidence rating. FSU's primary recruiter for Forkpa is John Papuchis. Michigan is a close second with a 25.9% confidence rating. It should be noted that those predictions are subject to change and those around the recruitment would probably point to UF being the leader as Forkpa will be a two-time visitor by the end of the weekend.
Other schools on the list for potential visits and consideration include Cincinnati and Colorado. Forkpa has already taken an official visit to the Buffaloes campus. On3 has Forkpa ranked as the No. 341 best player nationally, No. 50 player in the state of Florida, and the No. 26 linebacker in the country.
Miami has one of the top 2026 classes in the nation with On3 putting them at No. 7 in the country. The Hurricanes currently have one linebacker in the class. Jordan Campbell, a four-star out of Miami Northwestern, was one of the earliest commits to the 2026 class back in November of 2023.
