The cat is out of the bag now and the Miami Hurricanes shouldn't hesitate to be one of the next teams in line to sign a sponsorship deal.
On Tuesday morning, it was announced that Ohio State inked a deal with JPMorgan Chase that's worth over $15 million, with reports suggesting the number is closer to $17 million. The deal gives the banking giant sponsorship of all of Ohio State's varsity sports (men's and women's) with a patch on the jersey or uniform.Â
"The deal spans the full athletic department and all 36 varsity sports. The investment also provides new resources to support Ohio State athletes through NIL opportunities, enhances the Buckeyes' overall competitive success and facilitates academic partnerships across the university," On3's Pete Nakos writes.
This is what's going to be the next big thing in college sports and Miami has the luxury of being in a location where many global corporations have major hubs, if not full-on headquarters. Here are a few that could be interested in a business partnership with Hurricanes athletics:

Robinhood
This fast-growing financial services alpha is based out of California, but has a huge presence in Miami. They are already the jersey sponsor for the Miami Heat in the NBA and the city hosted the company's massive HOOD summit event back in 2024. The apprehension here are the ties that Robinhood has to sports gambling through its predictions market. That probably won't fly with the decision makers at the university.
Lenovo
Although the tech company is based out of China and Hong Kong, they have a corporate hub in Miami and their footprint in athletic sponsorships is global. Their logo can be seen on the back of the jersey for the Italian powerhouse soccer club Inter Milan. Lenovo also owns Motorola Mobility and that company's logo has been on the shoulder of several NBA teams (currently the Chicago Bulls).
The Major Cruise Lines
Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Norwegian and Celebrity are among the cruise lines that have their primary hub in Miami. Carnival had the jersey patch for the Heat a few years ago and Royal Caribbean currently has a jersey patch on the Inter Miami jersey in the MLS. Few things epitomize Miami more than the beach life and the cruise life, so it makes perfect sense for a long-term business relationship.
Other possibilities
BankUnited was founded in Miami Lakes and has grown into a multi-billion dollar regional financial services company that operates up and down the Eastern seaboard.Â
Ryder is one of the top transportation companies in the country and has been a staple in Miami's business community for over 90 years. The former CEO, Robert Sanchez, is a Miami alum, while the current top executive, John Diez, is an FIU graduate, but you know he's probably a Hurricanes fan too.
