There were some thoughts that the Miami Hurricanes could move into the top three after a 41-13 demolition of Clemson on the road in Week 5, but they will stay at No. 4 heading into the bye week.
The optimism came from Notre Dame's game against North Carolina that might've been a little closer than expected, but not really a game where it felt like the Fighting Irish were any real trouble. Neither were the Hurricanes, for that matter, as they stormed out to an early lead and continued to build from there.
With a week off to heal up before Florida State comes to town, the only thing that can stop the Hurricanes might be their health. There's still a month before the Hurricanes and Irish have their long-awaited clash.

The ACC sneaks another team into the poll
All the tough talk from Pat Narduzzi must've made an impression on the voters because Pittsburgh jumped Kentucky to come in at No. 25 in the polls. No one should have any problem with that, as the Panthers are undefeated and have a couple of decent wins on the resume. The Mason Heintschel news is devastating for sure, but Pittsburgh deserves the opportunity to show it can overcome it.
Meanwhile, Indiana won by 32 points on the road and dropped one spot behind Alabama, who beat Mississippi State on the road by 33. Despite losing by almost five touchdowns, the Bulldogs only dropped a spot. Had they lost by 40, it's possible the voters would have put them in the top 15. These polls are really in a sad place and have lost so much credibility.
Texas, Georgia, and Ohio State all join Miami and Notre Dame in the top five. There were a lot of teams off this week, and most of them stayed stationary. One team that didn't was Florida, which dropped eight spots after getting wrecked by Missouri, thus putting the Hurricanes-Gators dream CFP matchup in doubt. Those Gators will do anything to avoid playing the 'Canes.
