When it comes to the Miami Hurricanes football team, everyone is focused on Cam Ward ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft and for good reason. With each day that passes, it's feeling more and more likely he'll be taken with the No. 1 overall pick.
However, he's not the only Canes standout who won't have to wait too long to get selected in the draft. Wideout Xavier Restrepo is expected to be taken in the second round and he now may have some company for Day 2.
Arguably no one helped themselves out more in Mobile for the Senior Bowl than tight end Elijah Arroyo. While he only had a two-point conversion reception in the game, Arroyo was lighting up the field during practices. In a new NFL Mock Draft from Chad Reuter, Arroyo will land with the Colts in the second round. Before the Senior Bowl, going that early seemed like a bit of a long shot for him.
Miami TE Elijah Arroyo did himself a massive favor at the Senior Bowl
Yup, Reuter indeed has Arroro going No. 45 overall to the Colts, which would be awesome to see. Checking in at 6-5, 240 pounds, Arroyo has great size for a tight end and his quick feet/solid hands make him an intriguing prospect too.
At the Senior Bowl, there were several instances where he made defenders look silly in trying to keep up with him. NFL scouts were no question left favorably impressed with the way he was looking on the gridiron, which has helped improve his draft stock tremendously.
Arroyo will now look to keep impressing at Miami's Pro Day and he'll surely be ready to keep turning heads once the NFL Combine arrives - it's set to take place in Indy as always. Arroyo, who posted 35 receptions for 590 yards and seven touchdowns in 2024, is now looking like one of the top TE prospects for the '25 draft class.
