Adam Schefter of ESPN reported on Monday afternoon that Miami tight end Elijah Arroyo visited the Houston Texans on Monday and has scheduled visits with the Cleveland Browns on Tuesday and the New York Giants on Wednesday. Cleveland and Houston currently have former Miami TEs on their roster.
David Njoku is entering his ninth season with Cleveland and Brevin Jordan will start his fourth year with Houston. Arroyo is currently projected to be the 66th pick per the NFL Mock Draft Database. That would project Arroyo to be the second pick in the third round.
After being used sparingly as a freshman and two injury-plagued seasons that followed, Arroyo had a breakout 2024 season with 35 receptions for 590 yards and seven touchdowns. The NFL.Com scouting report on Arroyo is mixed on his route running and it is clear that he needs to improve as a blocker.
Houston has Dalton Schultz, Jordan, Cade Stover and Dalton Keene as TEs on their roster per ESPN. Jordan missed all but two games in 2024 after tearing his ACL. The Houston TEs combined for 70 receptions for 772 yards and three TDs in 2024. Schultz had 53 receptions for 532 yards and two TDs last season.
Miami TE Elijah Arroyo has a visit today with the Texans, the Browns on Tuesday, and the Giants on Wednesday.

Cleveland has Njoku, Blake Whiteheart, Brenden Bates and Tre' McKitty on their ESPN depth chart. Cleveland TEs had 111 receptions for 953 yards and eight TDs in 2024. Jordan Akins who is not listed on the ESPN depth chart for Cleveland had 40 receptions for 390 yards and two TDs last season.
ESPN lists the Giants' TEs as Theo Johnson, Daniel Bellinger, Chris Manhertz and Greg Dulcich. The Giants' TEs had 46 receptions for 586 yards and two TDs in 2024. Johnson was a fourth round pick by the Giants in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Giants could be seeking another TE in the 2025 NFL Draft.
It appears that the Giants are the best opportunity for Arroyo over Cleveland and Houston who return far more production at TE from 2024. Arroyo should help continue to provide Miami the moniker of TE U. Improving as a blocker and more consistency as a route runner will be critical for Arroyo based on his NFL scouting reports.
