Hayes Fawcett of On3 reported to X on Monday that five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, who is the top-ranked player in the 2026 class, will have his commitment announcement on April 30. Cantwell will choose between Georgia, Miami, Ohio State and Oregon, per Fawcett.
Fawcett also reported Cantwell is taking his official visit to Oregon on April 26 and 27. The On3 profile page for Cantwell lists his official visits to Miami the weekend of May 9, Michigan on June 13 and Oregon on June 20. Cantwell is also scheduled to take official visits to Missouri on May 30 and Georgia on June 6, per 247Sports.
There is not a clear favorite to receive a commitment from Cantwell. On3 lists Missouri and Michigan as the top two programs, but Fawcett did not include them among the four programs Cantwell will choose from. Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U is the only crystal ball logged for Cantwell and projects him to Miami.
Cantwell has taken unofficial visits to Miami on March 18, 2025 and November 2, 2024, per his On3 profile page. Including the scheduled visit in May, Miami is tied for fifth with three visits with Michigan and Oklahoma. Missouri has received the most visits from Cantwell, with five. Columbia, Missouri, is about 180 miles from Nixa, where Cantwell lives.

Miami appears to be in a good position for a commitment from Cantwell. On3 lists the top four as Miami with 12.2 percent for a commitment from Cantwell, Georgia at 8.2 percent, Oregon at 6.2 percent and Ohio State at 4.2 percent. Missouri is listed as the leader at 16.2 percent and Michigan is second at 12.2 percent.
Nebraska, Alabama, Oklahoma and Arkansas were listed among the leaders but are out of the running per the X post by Fawcett. Miami currently has the 11th-ranked class overall and second in the ACC per the On3 Industry rankings. Cantwell would be the first 2026 five-star commit for Miami and the fourth offensive lineman.
