Miami will have chance to avenge loss to Louisville in ACC Tournament quarterfinal

Miami will have a chance to avenge its loss to Louisville on Saturday when the Hurricanes and Cardinals rematch in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals on Thursday.

Miami will have an opportunity to avenge its 92-89 loss to Louisville on Saturday when they play the Cardinals in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals on Thursday afternoon. Louisville defeated SMU 62-58 on Wednesday in the ACC Tournament second round.

Miami has eight wins and 16 losses all-time against Louisville. The Cardinals have won three consecutive games against the Hurricanes. Miami had a four-game winning streak against Louisville before the current losing streak to the Cardinals.

Louisville is without star freshman Mikel Brown Jr. through at least the ACC Tournament. Brown Jr. did not play against Miami on Saturday and has been out since Louisville lost at Clemson on February 28. Ryan Conwell carried Louisville with 24 points in the win over Miami.

Louisville has won its last three games without Brown Jr. Conwell scored 16 points against SMU, including a three-point shot with 1:17 remaining to put Louisville ahead by two points and a drive to the basket with 29.4 seconds remaining to put Louisville up by four.

Where Miami and Louisville finished in ACC

Miami is 24-7 overall and finished 13-5 in the ACC during the regular season to earn the third seed in the conference tournament. is 23-9 overall and finished 11-7 in the ACC, earning the sixth seed in the conference tournament.

Florida State, Clemson, California, Virginia and Louisville were the ACC teams that defeated Miami during the regular season. If Miami beats Louisville on Thursday, it will advance to play the winner of North Carolina State and Virginia in the semifinals on Friday.

California, Clemson and Florida State are all alive in the ACC Tournament on the bottom half of the bracket. Miami could have multiple chances to avenge regular-season losses in the ACC Tournament. Louisville and Miami will tip off at 2:30 PM Eastern Daylight Time on Thursday.
