Miami quarterback Carson Beck set a program record with 24 straight completions, getting things over the line on Saturday against Virginia Tech. Beck completed his last 13 passes in a 41-7 win over North Carolina State last week and his first 13 attempts on Saturday in the 34-17 victory against the Hokies.
Five of the 24 completions during Beck's streak went for touchdowns. The completion streak against North Carolina State helped extend their lead from 17-0 to 41-0. Beck's 11 consecutive completions to begin the game on Saturday staked Miami to a 14-3 lead over Virginia Tech.
Beck completed 27 passes in 32 attempts for 320 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions against Virginia Tech. Saturday was the third consecutive game Beck completed at least 75 percent of his pass attempts. Including the Virginia Tech game, Beck has completed 74.3 percent of his passes in 2025.
Beck should shatter the single-season Miami completion percentage. Cam Ward currently holds the single-season Miami record by completing 67.2 percent of his pass attempts in 2024. Tyler Van Dyke previously set the Miami record with a 65.8 completion percentage during the 2023 season.
The 24 consecutive completions by Carson Beck (over two games) is a Miami record.

Carson Beck previously set a Miami completion record
Beck had 12 completions for first downs on Saturday. Even after the incompletion on Saturday, Beck completed 16 of his last 21 pass attempts. That is 76.2 percent. This is the second time in 2025 that Beck has set a Miami completion record.
The veteran quarterback completed his first 15 passes in a 45-3 Miami win over Bethune-Cookman to break the program record of 14 set by Vinny Testaverde in a memorable 28-16 Hurricanes' win over Oklahoma during his Heisman Trophy-winning season in 1986.
Beck has arguably been playing his best for Miami over the past three games. Beginning with the 38-10 win over Syracuse on Nov. 18, Beck has 83 consecutive pass attempts without an interception. Miami has won all three of those games as it stays alive for a College Football Playoff berth.
